Hi there!

So…. We have been productive today. We woke up around 8 (taking the time difference into account this time) because we had been told to start our activities around 9. We were guided by Steve today who is the handyman of the campsite so he explained us what to do. With the four of us together we have been working on one of the bunkhouses today. In all honesty, it could use some paint. But more than that, they could use another color. The whole interior of the Bunkhouse was painted yellow, which is…. well, kind off overwhelming. Unfortunately we did not have any influences on color choices so yellow it was again. (This made us feel really bad about ourselves because all of our work would in the end not make the Bunkhouse that much more beautiful…)

Steve asked me to start in the toilet, which was coated in an orange kind off yellow. He explained me that there were several steps to undertake before I could start painting. First the wall had to be cleaned with sugar soap after which the sugar soap had to be washed off with water and the wall had to be dried. It took us most of the morning to be able to start painting but before morning snack the ceiling of the bathroom (by this time I had switched rooms with Arita) was done. We had our morning snack together with Steve after which we continued our work.

We spend the rest of the morning and the afternoon painting, doubting about our work and listening to Steve. At the end of the day we managed to do one layer of paint on all walls and ceilings in the Bunkhouse (including cleaning and scraping). Steve was very impressed with our work and had not expected us to be such a hardworking ladies (whohoo finally someone who likes our efforts)

We are expected to cook for ourselves at this campsite so tonight we have made our own pasta. Pasta is obviously not the most difficult thing to make but we have to start somewhere right. The Pasta was okay but I guess I am used to better Pasta and I am still not sure if it was not a success due to Scottish pasta or due to our cooking skills.

That was the first day of the working part of our internship in short, it was fun but also extremely tiring.
